Omega Speedmaster Professional
BLUE Sunburst / Soleil PROTOTYPE Dial
The Omega Speedmaster is one of the most iconic and historically significant models in the history of watchmaking. The reference 145.012 is famous for being worn by astronauts during NASA's Apollo missions, including the Apollo 11 moon landing in 1969.
This particular 145.012 model features a distinctive characteristic: a special BLUE Sunburst dial.
Produced in 1968 and intended for the US market, this is indicated by the OXG marking, an import stamp on the balance of the 321 caliber, confirmed by the extract of the archive.
The tachymeter bezel, known as "DON" (Dot Over Ninety), is in excellent condition, as are the case, the case back (with the particularity of the double reference), the reference 1039 bracelet dated '68, and the Hesalite crystal, with the Ω logo in the center.
An Omega Speedmaster with a special blue dial can be a highly valuable piece, especially if in excellent aesthetic condition. The rarity of the model significantly contributes to its value: to date, only 4 examples with this configuration are known.
