Omega Speedmaster PROFESSIONAL
s.n. 48.3 mil
today I would like to present to you a specific version of the Speedmaster reference 145.022 produced in 1994 by the case maker A.D.B.
Association Donzè-Baume (Poinçon de Maître
N° 363 registered in La Chaux-de-fonds on the 15/9/87 and acquired by Richemont Group in 2009)
- and commonly referred to as A.D.B. and easily recognised by their pine-tree logo.
Studying this unpolished and first-owner example, we can see a similar production style of the lyre lugs featuring rather perpendicular ‘cuts’ on the top part of the helical shape to that of the famous 105.012-66 CB (Centre Boîtes SA from Bienne).
This lug style is tied to the modes of production and results in a rather irregular internal satin finish compared to other case makers such as the Hugenin Frères made ones.
I am sure in the future we will look at the A.D.B. cases in a similar way as today we appreciate the CB cases from 1966…
