“NOT FOR SALE” Speedymoon

Today I want to show you this special watch from a dear collector friend. This example was the "mock-up" of the Omega Speedmaster Moonphase ref. 3689.30.31 "Speedymoon" in white gold 18kt, released in 1999 in less than 300 pieces produced. This kind of piece would be showed in the shops before the official release.

The watch is made of stainless steel instead of white gold and is stamped "not for sale" on the back of the lugs.

I love the idea that these watches were never intended to be sold and were for exhibition only and have found their way to collectors today. Owning the un-buyable is always a prestige.
